Oak Park River Forest High School Orchestra, Band Choir and Theatre

The Oak Park and River Forest High School Orchestra is one of the oldest curricular orchestras in the nation, founded in October 1907. The OPRFHS Orchestra still carries on the rich tradition of excellence with three curricular orchestras: String Orchestra, Concert Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra.

The orchestras perform four major concerts per year, with an international tour every other year. Places recently visited by the orchestra include Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, and Spain. The orchestra hosts an annual Concerto Competition, where three winners have the opportunity to perform their work with the orchestra. The Symphony Orchestra recently performed at the Illinois Music Education Association' Conference in Peoria, Illinois in 2011.

The Oak Park and River Forest High School Band program has a long tradition of excellence. The bands at OPRF have been recognized at both the local and state levels. The program includes 4 curricular concert bands, 1 curricular jazz ensemble, a co-curricular jazz band, marching band, and pep band. The bands have 4 concerts a year along with an international tour every other year. Tours have included performances in Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, and Spain.

Es una de las mas antiguas orquestas curriculares en la nación fundada en octubre de 1907. La Orquesta OPRFHS aún mantiene la rica tradición de excelencia en cada una de sus tres orquestas curriculares: La Orquesta de Cuerdas, la Orquesta de Concierto y la Orquesta Sinfónica.

Las orquestas ejecutan cuatro grandes conciertos principales cada año con un tour internacional cada dos años. Los lugares que recientemente ha visitado la orquesta incluye lugares come Austria, República Checa, Hungría, Italia y España.

La orquesta es la anfitriona de una Competencia Concertística Anual, donde tres ganadores tienen la oportunidad de ejecutar sus obras con la orquesta.

La Orquesta Sinfónica recientemente se presentó en la Conferencia de la Asociación de Educación Musical de Illinois que tuvo lugar en Peoria, Illinois (EEUU) en 2011.

El programa de la Banda de la Escuela Superior de Oak Park River Forest tiene una larga tradición de excelencia. Las bandas en Oak Park River Forest han sido reconocidas sea a nivel local como a nivel estatal.
